L.A. Times Award-Winning Author and Distinguished Criminal Law Attorney Joins NextClient™ Advisory Board
Los Angeles, CA – August 20, 2000. NextClient announces that Professor Harry M. Caldwell has joined the NextClient Advisory Board and will participate in the development of consumer-oriented articles that explain the often complex issues surrounding criminal law, procedure, and the criminal justice system.
Professor Caldwell has been a faculty member at Pepperdine University School of Law since 1980, where he has twice been honored as the Luckman Distinguished Teaching Fellow.
Prior to joining the faculty at Pepperdine School of Law, Professor Caldwell was a trial deputy with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office and also served in a similar position with the Santa Barbara District Attorney's Office. He is currently active in the practice of law, representing inmates on California's death row in their appeals to the California Supreme Court.
Professor Caldwell has written extensively in the areas of criminal procedure and trial advocacy. His works include The California Criminal Trialbook (West) and co-authoring Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury: The Ten Greatest Closing Arguments (Scribner/Simon & Schuster), selected by the Los Angeles Times for the "Best Non-Fiction of 1998" award. Professor Caldwell is currently co-authoring The Art and Science of Trial Advocacy with two colleagues.
